Last books I read were both by G. B. Shaw; Pygmalion and Mrs Warren's Profession - because of the school. Can't say it was a real torture, I have read worse stuff, and I did chuckle at some points, but overally, nothing to special. Wouldn't pick his plays if I didn't have to.

That's the main thing I hated about classes... They never give you books you WANT to read... They give you the most boring crap they can find lmao

:P I actually discovered a bunch of great books thanks to classes, one of which is one of my favourites books ever. But it depends, on the book, topic, mood, and it differs with people. Schools usually give you books that are not easy to read - and that's not everyone's cup of tea.

The only good book I ever read for a class was "About A Boy" - only liked that because I liked the movie haha :)

You LIKED the movie???? Wait, it's got Hugh Grant in it right? One of my most hated actors ever? I mean, the guy himself, isn't too bad, just the parts he plays in films. Only one I like from him is, Sense and Sensibility.

^I like Hugh Grant too. Or rather, I don't have anything against him.

@t: finished The Armageddon Rag by George R. R. Martin. I wouldn't call it stunning, but it's well written and the idea is pretty cool.
It's about a rock band called The Nazguls, that were very popular in the late 60's - early 70's. Then their vocalist was shot on stage. The story takes place in the 80's, when some guy tries to resurrect the vocalist. The idea for the book is nice enough, that I liked it, despite the fact the main hero and his friends are (or rather were in the 60's) freakin' hippies, and I hate hippies :P
Though the very ending was a little too hasty and didn't explain all that it should.
But still, I'd recommend this book.

Now I'm reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Decided to refresh it after the movie. And yes, it's still so damn weird  Must say, despite the fact that the author was a disgusting pedophile, he was a genius writer.

I love the Redwall series by Brian Jacques... It's always fascinated me since I got one of his books for my 10th birthday - Redwall is my escape from reality :)

Currently reading both Umberto Eco's In the Name of the Rose, and John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids.

I started that one at some point, and failed horribly. I couldn't get past the huge description of the church (?) at the begining. I wanna read it at some point, but somehow can't make myself to pick the book again. :|

But I like reading books from Belgian writers :)

Well he does tend to go off with the descriptions doesn't he? I find it an intriguing read however, is funny cause I have a thing against the christian church, but this reminds me more of those films where's someone's possessed and they call in the priests etc. Not bad so far, haven't gotten too far yet though, I started on Day of the Triffids and almost finished it in one day, it's so easy to read and had a hard time putting it down. Reminds me, of the film Blindness, the book/film the Stand and eh, wait there was one more I think.. ugh I can't remember. A little bit of War of the Worlds I guess. The book, not the film.

^ Does it have to be new? Or can it be a classic novel or play as well?

I'm reading The Picture Of Dorian Gray at the moment, that's always worth spending some time on
