Well since I mostly read fantasy its mostly considers series....currently my two favorites are...

The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter - Series by Laurell K. Hamilton

Wheel of Time - Series by Robert Jordan

(Hope I don't have to wait 3 fucking years for the next wheel of time book as I did with the last. )

  ONE fav book?? Hell no I have many.. I read a lot, I always have at least two books laying around that I'm reading.. like right now I'm alternating between Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Poppy Z. Brite's Drawing Blood. 8) But a few of my fav's are.. (I was lazy so I just copied this from my MySpace profile..)

Laurell K. Hamilton - Merry Gentry series, Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series
Anne Rice - The Vampire Chronicles
Poppy Z. Brite - Lost Souls, Exquisite Corpse, Drawing Blood
Jacqueline Carey - Kushiels Dart trilogy
Garth Nix - The Old Kingdom Trilogy
Stephen King - A few of my favorites are The Stand, The Talisman (with Peter Straub), The Dark Tower series (although I haven't read them all yet, still planning to do that though), Salem's Lot and It. But I like most of his books.
Tanith Lee - Vivia, White as Snow
Juliet Marillier - Sevenwaters Trilogy

And there probably are more that I haven't even thought of. I have been reading lots of books ever since I was like.. hell old enough to read. I love it!!

Also Lord Of The Flies was pretty fuckin cool. I love how right at the end when the kids are rescued, that boy is running for his life and its terrifying, but when the adult appears, they all immediately return to just being children playing. Its cool.

Other favourites...

Of Mice And Men, John Steinbeck
Harry Potter 1>6, JK Rowling (DONT JUDGE ME)
Wee Free Men, Terry Pratchett
Hatful Of Sky, Terry Pratchett
Reaper Man, Terry Pratchett
Mort, Terry Pratchett

Discworld rules. :)

@ Bloodless, about the Discworld series..Definately a series that I'm planning on reading somewhere in the future..
Oh and I also like the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel, although I haven't read those in about two years. Need to reread..
And Albtraum.. I also read part of the Wheel of Time series, the first few books, but then I just got bored with it. Just took to long, the things that happened in it, just progressed too slow for my taste. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime when I'm in the mood, though then I'd have to reread the first books also.
Hmm when books are my favorites.. I can reread them soooo often.. there are actually books that I read about once a year.
Another one of my fav books, one I've read several times already and just keep liking, is Michael Ende's The Neverending Story. Yes, upon which the movies are based. Book's very different though. Ah and Tonke Dragt's Torenhoog and Mijlen Breed.. a childrens book more or less that I've read so many times since I was a child. Don't know what the book is called in english.

See... I love books.. get me going on books and I can talk for hours. I've read so many and yet not enough. If you guys have any books that are sooooo awesome and I should read them, let me know pleeeaaasssee.. always open to suggestions! :D

Yeah I agree with Univerze on that certain books I can read several times...have read the wheel of time series about 5 times through...well honestly when you get through all 11 books most is forgotten so I can start over again. Also there are a lot of details that I didn't notice the first time I read it. Really like that none of the main characters are pure good like in some fantasy and can do evil things just because they think they are actually for a good cause.
I am currently on my second time through the Anita Blake, Vampire hunter series. (Currently reading Cerulean sins) Just love the narative style with all the sarcasm and that the heroine is not exactly the nicest girl in the world. And yeah...Laurell K. Hamilton is the only fantasy author that I read stuff by so far that have gotten me to blush while reading.
